Description

This International Women's Day, we're busting the taboos and starting the menstrual revolution!

Menstruation.
Menopause.

Contraception.
The tampon tax.
Hormonal hot flushes.

Topics that we discuss in hushed tones, lest we offend someone's sensibilities.

Not any more. Join us for one of the most popular events in the union calendar where we celebrate the achievements of our movement, and get inspired for the year ahead.

Guest speaker Karen Pickering is a feminist educator, presenter and writer based in Melbourne. She was the creator and host of Cherchez la Femme, a monthly talkshow of popular culture and current affairs from an unapologetically feminist angle.

Karen is the author of the taboo-busting book, About Bloody Time: The Menstrual Revolution We Have To Have, written alongside Jane Bennet. About Bloody Time examines the experience and representation of menstruation and menopause in contemporary Australian society.

Arrive at 6.00pm for complimentary champagne, followed by dinner at 6:30pm (BYO drinks).

This event is happening on the traditional land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. Sovereignty was never ceded.

Our venue is wheelchair-accessible, and this event will be held on the ground floor. If you have specific access requirements, please get in touch and we'd be happy to discuss these.
